Introduction

Spandana is committed to protecting the privacy of all visitors to its website (www.Spandana.org). This privacy policy describes the collection, use, and security of information Spandana receives when users visit its site. From time to time,Spandana may amend provisions of this policy. In the event of material modifications, Spandana will alert users with a notice on its homepages and a direct link to the revised policy.

Information Collected

Spandana does not require visitors to its websites to register or provide any personally identifying information in order to view any of its webpages. Spandana websites do not send out cookies (small text files that enable websites to recognize and track repeat visitors and customize features of the site for them).

Many visitors to the Spandana websites use the resources found there for their own education and reflection. Unless a visitor voluntarily provides personally identifying information online for the purpose of making a donation, or requesting further information regarding the Fund for the poor and needy, only the following, non-personally identifying information will be gathered about her or his use of Spandana website:

  • the addresses of the websites that the person came from and goes to
  • the pages visited on the Spandana site
  • the type of web browser used by the visitor
  • the time and date of each visit
  • the IP address of the computer used to gain access to the Spandana website (an IP address is a number automatically assigned to a computer each time the computer is used to surf the Internet)
  • Information Security and Disclosure Policy

    The statistical and personally identifying information received by Spandana as a result of a visitor's use of Spandana websites will be gathered by Spandana solely for internal purposes, such as helping Spandana understand how often its websites are accessed and how they might be improved. None of the statistical, non-personally identifying information collected by Spandana will be used by Spandana to identify a visitor or be linked to any personally identifying information about the visitor. When such information is provided by a parent or guardian and/or for acknowledgment of or shipping of a gift, Spandana will use the information only for those limited purposes. Acknowledgment may include mailings of Spandana's own materials, such as annual reports, which list donors who do not desire anonymity and those in whose honor donations were made. Spandana does not rent, exchange, or sell to third parties any of the information that visitors provide online. Spandana will only share personally identifying information with third parties when the person submitting the information authorizes Spandana to do so or when Spandana is required to do so by law.
